What is the material composition of our coffee stir sticks?
These are PS (Polystyrene) coffee stir sticks.
Is PS material food-safe?
We use 100% food-grade virgin PS material. It is BPA-free and complies with FDA or relevant food safety certifications.
Is it safe to use PS stir sticks in high-temperature coffee?
Yes, it can. The heat deflection temperature (HDT) of PS typically ranges from 70°C to 90°C, which is perfectly fine for regular coffee drinking temperatures (usually around 65°C to 80°C). Note: If the customer needs to stir boiling water, we suggest advising them to remove the stirrer immediately after use and avoid prolonged soaking in boiling water.
Is this material recyclable?
Yes, it is. PS is a recyclable plastic (Resin Identification Code 6). We recommend that customers dispose of it through local recycling programs where facilities are available to ensure resource circularity.
